welcome

Welcome to City Hope Fellowship. We are seeking to be a diverse people saved by JESUS, centered on JESUS, and sent by JESUS to extend the hope and fellowship of God to our City.

PARTS OF OUR WORSHIP SERVICE

We meet for Worship at 10:15 AM on the 3rd Floor of the Historic Patterson Building, the bright yellow building on the corner of Main and Walnut in downtown Muncie. The address is 108 S Walnut St, Muncie, IN 47305.

People come as they are to City Hope so don't feel that you need to get dressed up to come to our service (though you are certainly welcome to come dressed up if you prefer). We gather together and sing lively and diverse worship songs, pray, listen to the preached word (our sermons are typically 30-45 minutes long) and celebrate the Lord’s Supper together each week.

CITY HOPE KIDS:
We have children’s church for kids ages 4-8 during the sermon.
We have a volunteer staffed nursery available for kids under 4.
Children are always welcome in the service and we gladly welcome all the joyful noises they make (seriously, we love children and its ok if they are loud).

Check out the information below to learn more about the different parts of our worship service:
Call To Worship
When we gather together for Worship, we hear first from God's Word as He invites us into His Presence.
Worshiping God Through Song
We sing together to bring glory and honor to our Faithful God who is worthy of all praise.
Worshiping God Through Giving
At City Hope, we are a family together. And together we give to the needs of the family. If you are visiting with us please feel no obligation at all to give financially, we are just glad to have you join us for worship.
Confessing Our Faith Together
At City Hope, we don't believe that we are the first or only Christians. In order to remember this and connect us with other followers of Jesus throughout the world and throughout history, we recite together a creed or catechism that confesses what it is that we believe.
Prayer
When we gather together for worship we spend time praying to our gracious God. Ordinarily we have one person from our congregation lead us in praying
Children's Church
During the Sermon we have children's church available for kids ages 4-8. The Kids go with a Teacher and a Helper to the second floor for a lesson.

*Please do not Send any toys or stuffed animals along with the Children*

Also, we love kids and they are welcome to stay in the service throughout the sermon (even if they make noise). We have sermon notes and coloring pages available at the welcome table.
Hearing From God's Word
We believe that God has spoken to us through His Word, the Bible. So each week when we gather together we hear a sermon that is rooted in God's Word.
The Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper weekly at City Hope. After a few brief remarks we will confess our sins together corporately and then Pastor Josh will set apart the elements for sacred use.
At City Hope we believe in the real spiritual (not physical) presence of Jesus in the Lord's Supper. As such, it is for all who belong to the Lord Jesus by faith. If you are a Christian, trusting in Jesus and Him alone for salvation, this meal is for you.
If you are not a Christian we ask that when everyone else comes forward you remain in your seats. However we invite you to put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you want more information about what it means to follow Jesus, check here and connect with us to learn more.
Baptism
At City Hope we believe that Baptism by water is a sign and seal of the gospel. It is a marker of our entrance into the Kingdom of God. Therefore it is given to those who are professing faith in Jesus for the first time and also to the children of believing parents.
Doxology and Benediction
As we conclude our service, we worship God together by singing the doxology and then receive a blessing from the Pastor. This sends us into the world as the church ready to be a part of Kingdom work in our city.
